Top 5 free iPhone apps

Happy humpday! We’re already halfway through this week, it’s flying in. Let’s hope the time passes this quickly until summer, when we get some nice weather at last! To keep our spirits up for the rest of this dreary January, here are our five favorite free iPhone apps this week.

 

• Monster Galaxy – The Zodiac Islands – Use spells, special items and attacks to battle your way to the top of the Monster Tamer leaderboard. This new role-playing game lets you fight and tame over one hundred wild monsters, travel around 14 zodiac-themed islands and watch the story progress as you get close to defeating the evil King Otho. Also available on Facebook!

 

• Fluff Friends Rescue – Forget restaurants and farms, it’s time to build your own pet rescue centre. Check the woods for lost pets and take them to be checked over by your resident vet. Next, it’s off to the groomers for a nice bit of pampering! Developed in partnership with the Humane Society of the United States, Fluff Friends Rescue has quite a young target audience and reaches out to them well.

• Tap Buggies – Another simulation game, this time involving building and nurturing a bug community. Start off with a small town, then watch as new content unlocks as you grow. Each room has its own unique buggy, there are four different areas to explore, upgrades can be crafted in workshops and everything you do earns you money which you can use to expand further! Just remember to turn off in-app purchases before lettings any kids play.

 

 

• NFL 2011 – A must for iOS-using football fans, NFL 2011 brings you right through the playoffs and up to the Superbowl XLVI. Featuring live scoring and play-by-play accounts, access to NFL.com podcasts, videos of coaches press conferences, in-game highlights, customizable alerts, breaking news and up-to-the-minute stats, you couldn’t ask for any more NFL information!

• NBA Game Time 2011-2012 – And now one for the basketball fans! NBA Game Time 2011-2012 is the ideal way to keep in touch with the game no matter where you are. Focus on your favorite team, watch highlights, access news, stats and information, NBA Twitter feeds and more. Again, you couldn’t really ask for more from an app.
